Meeting 01

Attendees: Mike Pickton (Supervisor)

Agenda

No agenda was made for this meeting.

Feedback

  • Good start to analysing the job roles and looking at the responsibilities, but would it be better to have the job advertisements from the same company?

  • Define whether I'm looking at what makes a game-ready character or if I'm looking at the job roles; blog title confused

  • I need to find out what a character artist in industry does and see if their roles are overlaid, or completely separate from other departments; finding displayed via Venn diagram

  • Look into the character creation pipeline to help research along

  • Contact people from: AAA, small studio, stylised game studio

  • Message i.p. via LinkedIn as Facebook isn't professional and an email is somewhat invasive

  • I'll need help from senior artists down the line as my project gets more in depth

  • Do the secondary research so the primary research makes sense

  • Overall answer what a game-ready character is, who's involved, and map out findings

Objectives for next week

  • Start looking into what a game-ready character is and list the requirements/specifications

  • To achieve this, speak to seasoned character artists

  • Do a map of the process from concepts to shipped game

  • Map of character workflow; parts might be outsourced?

  • Note findings for clarity
